Many people won't be able to answer you the question's if you ask them where or what the rotator cuff is. The Rotator cuff is a group of muscles that is made up out of 4 different muscles, that hold together the shoulder blade. It is the most flexible part of your body, and it is able to make more movements in different directions then any other part of your body.

The rotator cuff is also one of the most vulnerable parts of your body. Practising regularly rotator cuff exercises can prevent a lot of harm to your shoulder. Through rotator cuff strengthening, which can be done through certain exercises, you can make the muscle group a lot stronger, and decrease the risk of suffering from a rotator cuff injury. There are mainly 2 kinds of groups when it comes to rotator cuff injuries. There are the ones that suffer from chronic rotator cuff injuries, through the overworking of the different muscles repetitively. The other group of people  get injured to the rotator cuff through a sudden fall. This is called the acute injury.

These exercises are normally given to you by a physical therapist that will assist you throughout the whole process of healing, and that will help you to set up a balanced program of rotator cuff injury exercises.
 
In some cases Rotator Cuff surgery is necessary to prevent the rotator cuff for further damage. Your medical specialist will have to give you a diagnoses and will have to establish weather your injury is severe enough to get rotator cuff surgery. However, sometimes it is better to get the surgery done otherwise the rotator cuff can get damaged more severely and the pain will increase significantly.
